The photo series states rooms of a strange kind in front of the views: war scenarios at first sight which unfold another story at the second glance. Shots taken at Moscow’s Museum of great patriotic war reveal partly personalized spaces among war scenarios of the second world war rotundas. Desks with phones and newspapers, flowers and books belong to the museum guards – mostly elderly women. By not focusing on the rotunda of these war panoramas but on the rear of the room installations, the photographs evoke the topic of staging history in musealized contexts and actualize the current war activities. Benches and chairs in front of the war scenes become bizzare and isolated objects as much as telephones do. The inside and the outside collide in an artificial way. Doors that have been omitted from the painting humorously suggest a potential exit from the war scenarios.
