Brigitte Bruckner

Before she devoted herself completely to painting, the artist Brigitte Bruckner, born in Linz in 1963, completed her studies of restoration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In addition to her artistic work, she was an assistant to her later husband Josef Mikl at the Salzburg Summer Academy in 1985 and 1988.

The Austrian artist Josef Mikl Josef Mikl is considered as one of the most influential artists in Austria after the Second World War.

Born in Vienna in 1929, he lived and worked in his hometown until his death in 2008. His name is not only linked to his long-time professorship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, but also to his membership in the legendary Gallery St. Stephan group (Wolfgang Hollegha, Josef Mikl, Markus Prachensky, Arnulf Rainer), which gave direction for many following Artist generations.
