Pirmin Blum: The subjectivity of the protest culture

Video show and discussion

A collaboration of:

National Center for Contemporary Arts Moscow

Austrian Cultural Forum Moscow

With support of: Raiffeisen Bank

The artist Pirmin Blum witnessed the 9/11 attacks in the US and his work, like that of other contemporary artists, has been marked by these events. His experiences are reflected in the performance, which expresses his own angst. Blum created the neon sign installation F…, which was perceived as a provocation by society and destroyed.

This act of vandalism was followed by an ambiguous reaction – Blum’s behaviour as an analyst and a reflection of society’s behaviour. Pirmin Blum will talk about his reaction to changes in contemporary art within the context of the protest and present his works to the Moscow public for the first time.
