The Vienna Boys´ Choir is the most famous choir in Austria, and it is known to the whole world. The collective of the Vienna choir consists of 100 boys aged from ten to fourteen years old and is divided into four concert choirs. They give 300 concerts a year, which are visited by almost half a million viewers all over the world. Each group spends ten to eleven weeks of the school year on tour. The Vienna Boys´ Choir has performed in many cities of Europe, Asia, Australia, South and North America, and Canada. The choir, together with the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera, has maintained the imperial tradition: since 1498 they have been performing in the Hofburg Chapel.
