Ferdinand Schmatz (Vienna) talks about modern Austrian poetry and reads out loud from his works.
Ferdinand Schmatz graduated from the Vienna Museum of Technology in 1972 and studied German language and literature, history and philosophy at the University of Vienna. From 1983 to 1985, he taught German language and literature at the University of Tokyo, Japan. From 1985 to 1987 he was a teacher of modern literature at the University of Art and Design in Linz. Since 2012, Schmatz has headed the Faculty of Speech Art at the Institute of Applied Arts in Vienna. Already in 1976, he published his first works, his poems are characterized by experimental literature of the Vienna group. Ferdinand Schmatz is a freelance writer and lives in Vienna and Burgenland.
