The competition "The Children in the World of Early Music" takes place since 2010. The competition is aimed at young musicians aged between 5 and 17 years. The selection procedure is open to the public.
The competition is also an educational project. The master classes for baroque music held in the competition are unique in Russian music education: meetings with the teachers and private lessons with the students, discussing the problems of teaching methods, repertoire and selection of a high quality musical instrument.
The jury of the competition is composed of famous teachers and soloists from Moscow.
The geography of participants in the competition is very wide: the Russian Federation (from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok), the Republic of Belarus, Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Lithuania. More than 800 young musicians have participated in the competition. More than 600 teachers and students participated in masterclasses of the competition.
The aim of the competition is to discover new talents and improve the quality of music lessons.
Sabrina Frey, musician (recorder flute) takes part as a jury member and gives masterclasses for the participants of the competition and the teachers.
