In 2014, as part of Austrian Cultural Season in Russia, audiences await an extensive program of Austrian films.

The Austrian Film Festival will be divided into four parts. The first part is a selection of new films and Russian premieres. The second part is a retrospective program prepared by modern Austrian directors. In the documentary film centre latest Austrian documentaries will be shown.

The avant-garde program is the last part of the festival and will be opened with the presentation of the book “die seidl.methode” written by Zara Abdullaeva about the renewed Austrian director Ulrich Seidl, who will be present at the opening.

The main thought of the curator Brent Klinkum for the arrangement of the program “Breaking ground – 60 years of experimental cinema in Austria” was the dialog between the generations of Austria´s avant-garde – from the “classics” of the 1950ties to latest digital productions.
