This course will be held weekly on Wednesdays from 03.04. till 29.05.2024 (08.00 - 09.30). 

At the online course, employees of government agencies (Embassies, Consulates, international organizations) will be taught comprehension strategies using authentic texts. In addition, situations typical for consulates and government agencies will be considered and learned.

The course will be held in small groups of 10-12 people.

The language level for the participation at the cours schould be at least B2.

Online intensive course “German for the diplomatic and management sphere”

The Mauricio Kagel composercompetition will take place for the sixth time.

 Organized by the Ludwig van Beethoven Institute for Piano in Music Education at the mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, international composers are invited to submit piano pieces for children and young people.

 The Mauricio Kagel composer competition is characterized by its particularly transparent and fair selection process. The renowned international jury will publicly discuss the decision in a process lasting several days. The finalists will receive attractive money prize and a publication of the work by Universal Edition.

The 6th International Mauricio Kagel composer competition

Thanks to the initiative of the Austrian Literary Society, the impressions, emotions and memories of writers who have made reading trips to various countries are available online. One of these Austrian writers who made a literary tour in Russia was Maša Dabić. The text of the trip is available in German: The part of the novel you could read in German: "»Ich bin halbe Russin«, antwortete ich früher automatisch, wenn ich, auf Grund meines Vornamens gefragt wurde, ob ich russische Wurzeln hätte. Bis mir irgendwann dämmerte, wie unsinnig diese meine Standardantwort war. Was heißt schonhalbe Russin? Wie kann man sich das vorstellen, die linke Körperhälfte russisch, der Rest nicht-russisch? Oder bis zur Taille russisch und weiter nicht? Was ist an mir russisch? – die Augen jedenfalls nicht, sie sind dunkelbraun und ich habe sie eindeutig von meinem bosnischen Vater geerbt..."
